VALLE DE GUADALUPE | Where to go

Valle de Guadalupe is the largest wine region in Mexico, around 1 million people visit the Valley every year. It is an extraordinary piece of Mexico, with a mediterranean vibe but also never loosing the authentic Mexican curiosity and color. It is a wine country that is still growing rapidly, so now is the time to get to know it! But with so many options how do choose where to go and which places to visit? Let us help you.

To date there are more than 80 wineries, and the number keeps on rising.  The Valley encompasses several communities such as Ejido El Porvenir, Francisco Zarco and San Antonio De las Minas, all of which are on a road called Ruta Del Vino –which translates to “the Wine Road”. It is simply impossible to visit all the places in one trip, in one day normally you have time to visit 2-4 wineries.

So, where to go in Valle de Guadalupe? Here we want to give you a small list of wineries and restaurants that we have liked so much for their wines, landscapes and service, and which we recommend with great pleasure (beware, unfortunately we have not been able to try all the existing ones in the valley yet, it is a job in process!). We can also guide you to places that are baby/pet friendly or have a more intimate environment for couples. Also good to know, most wineries have their own restaurant as well or at least great snacks.

Other important tips: keep yourself hydrated and drink plenty of water, bring your sunscreen because many of the wineries have large outside areas to enjoy, book a driver to take you to the wineries for a whole day (no getting lost and you can drink all the wine you want).
